Workshop on CT Coronary Imaging

Manipal Hospitals Radiology Group organized a workshop on CT Coronary Imaging, attended by 60 participants including radiographers from Columbia Asia Hospitals Bangalore, Bethel college, Baptists Hospital, CSI Hospital, etc.
The training focused on enriching the technologist’s knowledge in preparing patients for the CT Coronary Angiogram procedures along with pre, during, and post-care of them. The workshop also taught the students about protocol standardization for Coronary Angiogram and helped them to understand in detail about study orientation.
A thorough understanding was provided on pathology findings, quality check, patient care, radiation safety, coronary artery anatomy, classification and post-processing
The students got exposure in handling history of patients, congenital abnormality, follow up study, calcium score, coronary angiogram and Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG).
Hands-on training was conducted on post-processing and image presentation. The importance of contrast medium and amount of contrast recommended for coronary angiogram was discussed in detail, which will help the students to improve their skills in day-to-day practices. There was a brainstorming session on challenges faced by Radiographers during procedures.
A panel discussion was organized to clarify the doubts and queries of the participants. The workshop winded up with case presentations on Coronary Angiograms collected from Manipal Hospitals
