International Day Of Radiology and CME

Manipal Hospitals Radiology Group celebrated the “International Day Of Radiology- 2018” on 8th November 2018, at Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore. Clinicians of Manipal Hospitals-Yeshwanthpur and Radiology teams across all 11 Manipal Hospitals have participated in the event.
The International Day Of Radiology is the day when the radiology fraternity worldwide celebrates it with the objective to create greater awareness about the responsibility of radiology in safe patient care and to understand the role that radiologists and radiological technologists play in the healthcare. It was this day in 1895, X-ray was discovered by Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen
Cardiac Imaging has been chosen as the main theme of the day. This is mainly to highlight the role that imaging professionals play in the detection, diagnosis, and management of cardiac diseases, increasing the quality of care and treatment of patients.
The event started with a small talk by Dr. Harsha Chadaga, Head Of Radiology – CARG. He spoke on the model that Columbia Asia Radiology Group follows. Dr. Shalini Govil, Senior Advisor and Quality Controller – CARG gave an insight on Artificial Intelligence and Chest X-ray which was very insightful. The event turned out to be a grand success with the presence of the members of Columbia Asia Hospitals fraternity.
A quiz competition was held among the technologists and in-house clinicians which was hosted by Dr. Madhu Kumar.
The day was celebrated by Columbia Asia Radiology Group as a mark of gratitude and creating awareness about the possibilities of medical imaging, the important role that radiologists and technologists play as parts of the healthcare team in different medical scenarios and the high level of educational and professional standards that they are expected of to work in this field.
